TigerBeetle is not a wrapper over Postgres, but a purpose-built transaction processing (OLTP) database, designed for mission-critical safety and 1000x performance.

For example, debits and credits are first-class primitives with balance invariants baked into the database. If you create an account that must never go into overdraft, TigerBeetle enforces this, not your application code.

Yes. We replicate across availability zones by default, and across regions or clouds on request on Growth and Enterprise plans.
